POWER IN PASSBAND
Power in Passband measures the amount of power in a user selected frequency band. It is
helpful for some people to think of a brainwave frequency band like a frequency band on the
equalizer of a home stereo. Many stereos have a visual display of the spectral components of
the audio output. This display generally has an array of leds. Each column of leds represents
the amount of power in one part of the audio spectrum. One end represents the high notes the
other end the low notes and the middle bands the notes in between. In WaveWare Fast bars
and Slow Bars show a similar break down in the brain wave frequency spectrum. Each bar
represents a one hertz frequency band.
The Power in Passband algorithm selects a specific portion of the brainwave spectrum. This
is like looking at a single band on the equalizer of your stereo. The output is the amount of
power in the selected frequency spectrum.
The sub-dialog box for power in passband is the same for the MIDI Options Dialog Box and
the general graphics options dialog box.
