REWARD/SUPPRESS RATIO
Reward/Suppress Ratio outputs the ratio of two digital filters (A and B), if certain conditions
are met. Filters A, B and C must be above or below user-specified threshholds to satisfy the
conditions. If the conditions are not met than there is no output. Conditions may be turned on
or off for each filter.
Typically the ratio of filter A to filter B will be used for the ratio of two brainwave
frequencies such as alpha/theta, beta/theta, or SMR/theta. Filter C is typically used to turn off
audio feedback in the event of either low or high frequency artifact.
Pictured above and on the facing page is a beta/theta protocol. When the ratio of beta to theta
is between 60 and 130% MIDI notes 60 to 84 are output if the following conditions are met:
Beta is above 2 uVolts,
Theta is below 7uVolts,
Delta is below 20 uVolts.
